Swimathon has a range of challenges on offer with distances suitable for all Swimmer types. Swimmers register to join your hosted sessions to complete their distance and fundraise for our joint charity partners

MySwimathon runs from Friday 21 March and Sunday 6 April 2025, overlapping Swimathon weekend.

This option allows people to swim in their own time and record their own results. This is useful for people who don’t live near a venue hosting a session or aren’t able to join the hosted session times. It also suits those that may prefer to swim independently.

Any swimmers attending your venue to complete MySwimathon challenges understand that they must book their swim times as standard recreational swimmers, and record their own laps.

Swimathon will take place at venues across the UK on Friday 28 – Sunday 30 March 2025. MySwimathon will be open from Friday 21 March and Sunday 06 April 2025.

Swimathon is designed to suit all levels of fitness, ability and age. At venues, the following options are available:

Individual: 400m, 1.5k, 2.5k, 5k & Triple 5k

Team Relay: 1.5k & 5k

MySwimathon offers the same challenge options as well as the option to swim your own distance.

Swimmers are encouraged to fundraise while taking on their challenge for this year's returning joint Charity Partners: Cancer Research UK & Marie Curie as well as the Swimathon Foundation.

Teams can be made up of 2-5 people.

Teams should take part in a relay format, with only 1 swimmer in the pool at a time completing a portion of the distance each so that you can time the entire team from start to finish. They can split the total distance between them however they wish.

We recommend, to ensure your venue is inviting to all swimmers, to host sessions around 3 hours long. This allows you to accommodate swimmers that are taking on longer distances.

Swimathon welcomes all ages and abilities. Under 16s must be entered and accompanied by an adult at the session.

Physical Marketing Materials were sent out to all venues from January 6th and should land with you 2-3 days later.

Digital versions of these, plus digital assets for your venue screens and social media are available to download from the Venue Area

On-The-Day Materials will be posted to venues in early March ahead of the Swimathon weekend.

Digital versions of lap cards and registration check-in sheets etc will be made available for download at the same time

Guides and Webinars will be uploaded to the Venue Area as we approach Swimathon weekend to help you understand what to expect.

We will send Swim caps and medals to you as the venue to accommodate everyone registered to your session. We will share more detail of these items in the Event Weekend Guide which will be uploaded to the Venue Area closer to Swimathon weekend.

Those taking part in MySwimathon challenges will be directly posted their Medals following their result submission.

Fundraising rewards will be sent to swimmers directly when they reach milestones.

Swimathon will send update emails to all venue organisers with current state-of-play and what to expect next. If you are not receiving these, please get in touch with the team via info@swimathon.org to check our contact details for your venue are correct.

If you have a change in Venue Organiser staff members - let us know any new contact details to ensure information is shared.

We will be sharing all links to your direct venue dashboard soon. Once you have this, you will be able to access the details of Swimmers registered to your sessions.

Swimathon entry fees vary slightly depending on the distance you decide to swim.

STANDARD ENTRY FEES:

Individual 5K: £17.50

Individual 2.5K: £16.50

Individual 1.5K: £15.50

Individual 400m: £14.50

Triple 5K: £35.00

Team challenges:

Team 5K £29.00

Team 1.5K £ 25.00

My Swimathon: Individual £13.50

My Swimathon: Team Challenges £35.00

Under 18s: We will have FREE entry to under 18's until 14th February 2025. After this period, the standard entry fees above applies to all swimmers of all ages.

Entries will close on 6pm 21st March, but we recommend encouraging swimmers to join earlier than this to ensure they can join your venue before it fills up!
