A nationwide shortage of 8,000 swimming teachers is preventing more than half a million youngsters from learning a vital life skill, warns Swim England.
Swimathon Foundation has today announced the launch of the Swimathon Festival 2021, set to take place between the 10th and 12th September of this year. The Festival will see Swimathon and Open Water Swimathon events taking place on the same weekend for the first time, in a major celebration of swimming across the country.
Having awarded £50,000 of grants from the Covid Relief Fund to over 100 organisations and individuals last year, Swimathon Foundation realised additional support was required this year, and released a further £30,000 to aid the swimming community this year.

The Swimathon Foundation has today awarded a total of £30,000 in grants to 148 swimming and aquatic clubs, swim schools and independent swimming and aquatic organisations from its 2021 Covid-19 Relief Fund.
